Hockey Clothing

Ice hockey is a renowned sport in North America, and the market for equipment is a reflection of that. The sport has gained popularity across the globe in part due to the development of synthetic ice.

The padding on the thighs, pelvis and hips of goalie trousers is more padded. Goalie jocks (also called jills) offer less protection for the groin however they provide more padding in front of the cup.

Apparel

Hockey players are required to wear protective gear as the sport is high-speed on hard surfaces. Players often collide, and sometimes even intentionally. Apart from ice skating sticks and ice skates the standard safety gear includes helmets (with the visor or complete face mask), shoulder pads and chest protector, elbow pads, mouth guard and gloves, as well as heavily cushioned shorts (also known as hockey pants or jock athletic protective, for males, and a jockstrap, also known as a "jill" for females), a pelvic protector (known as a girdle for women) and thigh tailbone, hip and shin pads. A neck protector may be worn.

In recent times technology has been utilized to reduce the weight of ice hockey apparel and make it more functional. For instance, many companies are now using carbon composites for stick shafts, and specialized foam is also available to make shoulder pads more lightweight without the protection they provide. Other enhancements include 3D scanning that can accurately analyze the body proportions of a participant to ensure that elbow, the knee and shin pads are designed to fit the specific player.

As more people become acquainted with the sport, and as synthetic ice surfaces are built all over the world to allow players to play in places that lack natural ice, the market for hockey will expand. Additionally, there has been a rise in the number of female players which is a good sign for market growth.

We have all the NHL clothing you require to look like a pro on and off the playing field.

Jerseys

Jerseys are the uniforms worn by hockey players. The jerseys tend to be heavier and have longer sleeves than other sports jerseys. The jerseys are adorned with the team logo on the front, the player's last name on the upper back and the player's number from 0 to 99. Some jerseys have a "C", "A", or "A" to signify the team captain, and alternate captains.

There are two types: authentic and replica. The authentic jerseys are made from the same material as the ones worn by the players, and feature the identical design. Replica jerseys may be made from different materials (usually cheaper) and might not have the exact design as authentic jerseys.

Most NHL teams have three or four sets of jerseys worn during games, and they also have special sets for things like traditional designs and charity events. Each jersey is fitted with an elastic band that is sewn into the back of the inside known as a fight strap which is secured to the player's pants during a game to stop the jersey from being pulled over a player's head during a fight.

The Authentic Pro is a top-tier NHL jersey made of high-performance fabrics, featuring multilayered tackle twill as well as 3D embroidery. It also has reinforced stitching. Both styles for women and men are available. The Authentic Premier is a lower-tier version of the Authentic Pro, and it is designed to mimic the appearance of the jerseys that players wear on the court.

Shirts

The jerseys, or sweaters, of a team are their most well-known clothes. They display the team's primary logo on the front, and usually include a second logo on the shoulders. The player's name is visible on the back of the sweater, and the player's number is displayed below it, ranging from 0 to 99. Team captains wear an uppercase "C" above and to the right of their jersey's name, while two other players who are designated as alternate captains, wear an "A" on their jerseys.

The majority of NHL teams have a third or alternate jersey that is worn for special occasions, such as for the Winter Classic or Stadium Series. Additionally there are many teams who have a retro or throwback alternative for their home jerseys. These third-sweater designs are a great way for teams to play around and could serve as a basis for their primary sweaters.

Vancouver Canucks' sweater is an exquisite combination of modern and traditional design. The black and blue jerseys have a striking look to them that makes it easy to pick out on the ice, while the white stripes provide some contrast. The Canucks have a lovely font on the numbers and names, which helps to enhance the neat appearance of the jersey.
